SOME INFLUENTIAL DOGS FROM THE PAST By Vesa Toivanen (Connection Papillons)

This is INT NORD CH NORDIC WINNER 1979 Tusa-Lusas Caligula and he was born 16th March 1977 and was bred by Katarina Karlsson, Sweden. He was the son of the CH Palmosa Why Not (Grenmicels Antonio of Palmosa x Palmosa Aileen) and Pierosas Janis Joplin (CH Pierosas Rinaldo-Rinaldini x Pierosas Ebonita). As you see he was half british and half swedish.

He is also behind of many todays leading papillon kennels and pedigrees and surely was one of the importans stud dogs in late 70´s. Couple of his sons needs to be mentioned since they are also behind of many dogs being exported from Sweden.

Britt-Marie Hansson from the Silenzio fame was one of the first breeders who used him for breeding. She bred her first bitch Pierosas I am A Tiger to him and they produced three puppies.Very compact and pretty son CH Silenzio´s Tarzan was a succesful sire too. Then again year later she bred her lovely champion bitch Silenzio´s Dacapo to him and they produced two males and two bitches and the world famous breathtaking CH Silenzio´s Silenzio was born. A smashinig papillon who we all in a world of showdogs and papillons know for sure. His litter brother CH Silenzio´s Sango Bolero was a succesful sire too. Dacapo was bred to him again 1982 and one male and two bitches were born.

Caligulas breeder Katarina Karlsson bred her bitch Tusa-Lusas Elena to him and two lovely males was born 1982 Tusa-Lusas Jimmeny-Puff and Tusa-Lusas Jamany-Puff. Names to be found in many pedigrees also.

This photo is old and not so clear but we can see a typey and compact dog indeed. Beautiful solid head, and well set ears. Masculine but same time pretty. Lovely propotions.

When i have enough information about his legendary son CH Silenzio´s Silenzio i will present him as well. For me he was one of those dogs in the history of the breed who made many, including me speechless.
