This dog is ENG CH Charthacoombe Tristam, born 20th Sep 1971 and he is one of the most interesting and well known dogs in papillons since he can be found in so many modern pedigrees and a name that is known by around the world.
Tristam himself sired many legendary ENG CH's like, CH Nouveau Le Grand, CH Hendikay Gaytime of Caswell, CH Daneview Charleston, CH Fircrest Fidelity of Gerlil, CH Fircrest Filemon and CH Stouravon Fircrest Fernanda. Just to name few names since these names are more familiar to new breeders and can be easily found modern pedigrees.
But how was this legendary stud dog actually bred ? Younger internet papillon breeder generation who count in and linebreeding percents might find Tristams breeding quite supricing.
Tristam was sired by CH Inverdon Regan whos dam was Inverdon Josephine Chi-Chi , a PICAROON PLUTO daughter. Tristams dam was CH Inverdon Pretty Puppet who was sired by Max Bygraves of Inverdon and Inverdon Josephine Chi-Chi, and both are sired by PICAROON PLUTO. So as you see he is tightly linebred to PICAROON PLUTO.
But who was this Pluto dog and how was he bred ? Well, he was a son of the legendary black-white ENG CH Picaroon Urbino and he was sired by the red sable-white CH Picaroon Ambrose. Plutos dam was Picaroon Vanilla who was also sired by CH Picaroon Ambrose. Talk about inbreeding.
